Let us FIGHT AMR
About the course
Have you thought of a scenario where a patient is unwell due to a bacterial infection which was once treatable but now none of the known medicinal agents work against it? Imagine the impact that such infections would have wherein we will lose millions of life just because medicines have failed to work!!!!
This is what we refer to as Antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This is when infectious agents undergo adaptations which make them win the battle against medicines and make the medicines completely ineffective.
Antimicrobial resistance is a grave issue around the globe. All nations are making their efforts to combat AMR as it is leading to lack of treatment strategies. Awareness amongst common masses regarding this issue and how they can contribute to it is very crucial. This course will aim at creating awareness and making the biology enthusiasts carry the message further to others as a cascade.
This massive open online course is developed under the aegis of UNESCO's Open Education for Better World (OE4BW) program. The course is designed under SDG-3 (To ensure healthy life and promote well being) and SDG-12 (To ensure sustainable consumption and production).
